Good afternoon . . .

Have you ever heard anyone say, “I gave them a piece of my mind”? Unfortunately, it usually was a piece they could not afford to lose 🙂 I’m using this in the context of anger. I spoke on anger this week on my video devotional. The Apostle Paul was addressing the Church at Ephesus and this is the revelation God gave to him.

Ephesians 4:26-27  And “don’t sin by letting anger control you.” Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry, 27  for anger gives a foothold to the devil.

God never said we would not get angry, He said when you are angry don’t sin in your anger. Anger can easily turn into sin and misfortune for us when it is protracted. Paul stated, don’t let the sun go down on your wrath. Take care of it quickly so it doesn’t fester. Are you angry at someone? Take care of it quickly. You may not agree, but don’t be disagreeable.

Remember the Hatfields and McCoys? That long-standing feud was over a pig. Can you believe it?
Relationships can be restored when anger is properly dealt with in a Godly manner. Just a reminder . . .

Colossians 3:16-17 Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts. 17  And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father.
