Finding the right words to talk about our faith is the theme. The book is called “The Heart of Christianity, Rediscovering a Life of Faith” by Marcus Borg. Dr. Borg was a well-known Biblical scholar who kept finding the ways to transmit what he learned from academic study to the rest of us. His books are very readable (he was a scholar who writes understandable English) and provide a good perspective on the Biblical story.
We will meet on our usual Bible Study time, Wednesdays at 6:30 P.M. The book study begins on February 6th, and will meet on the 13th and 20th of February as well. A second series will be held on March 27th, April 3rd and April 10th. We will look at a different chapter each session – one chapter relates to another, they do not all have to be read in order for you to understand any one.
February 6 – Chapter One – Finding the heart
February 13 – Chapter two – Faith; the way of the heart
February 20 – Chapter three – God: the heart of Reality

April 3 – Born again: a new heart
April 10 – the Kingdom of God; the heart of justice.
