Good afternoon . . .

I hope your week has gone well. It’s gotten warm and my grass has gotten browner 🙂 Life often plays out this same scenario. The heat is on and we thrive, or we wither. Jesus gave us many verses of comfort. Here is a passage I used this week on my video devotional.( www.pembrokechurch.org  or our Facebook page)

John 14:1-7 “Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. 2  There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? 3  When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am. 4  And you know the way to where I am going.” 5  “No, we don’t know, Lord,” Thomas said. “We have no idea where you are going, so how can we know the way?” 6  Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. 7  If you had really known me, you would know who my Father is. From now on, you do know him and have seen him!”

Jesus wanted us to have confidence in Him and trust Him when life becomes oppressive. He says ultimately, I have a place prepared for you and when the time is right, I will come for you. Jesus made the way for us to be with Him. Good news!

Please continue to pray for Dan Stauffacher (ph. 485-5177). He said he seems to be doing well and has stabilized. Give him a call if you desire, he would appreciate it.

James is recuperating from his arm surgery on his bicep. You could drop him an email and encourage him. (platybus44@yahoo.com

I’m looking forward to seeing you Sunday. If you aren’t comfortable coming to church yet, check out the podcast of the message at www.pembrokechurch.podbean.com

Have a great day!

Blessings, Pastor Duffy

1 Corinthians 15:58 So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.
