1879 | Jewell Lodge #94 AF&AM formed in the Masonic Hall. |
1885 | Pembroke Grange #111 is organized |
1896 | Mary Gordon Bartlett Rebekah Lodge #69 I.O.O.F instituted. |
1899 | Suncook Village Improvement Society formed. |
1900 | Original wooden Pembroke Academy building burns. Rebuilt in brick. |
1900 | Fred W. Saltmarsh founds F.W. Saltmarsh Coal and Ice Company. |
Our Church
1876 | Wood burning stoves replaced with coal burning stoves. |
1883 | The Church has a new organ installed. (The same one presently in use). |
1883 | Professor Isaac Walker, Principal of Pembroke Academy for 27 years, is elected a Deacon of the church. |
1900 | Reverend Paul E. Bourne, Paster 1893-1904, is married to Eliza Downing. “With old and young alike he is a magnet that never fails to draw, in the pulpit and out of it.” |
