I hope you are having a good day. Things are starting to progress and I am looking forward to being together again.
Recently I shared a quote on my Facebook page by Dr. Jay Adams. He was a strong advocate of biblical counseling and using it in a practical way. His method was called Nouthetic Counseling. I appreciated his straight forward approach in dealing with stressful and challenging situations.
Unforgiveness can be all consuming if not handled properly. We can become bitter and angry never finding satisfaction in our relationships. Have you ever felt overwhelmed when someone has wronged you? The Bible speaks often about forgiveness.
Ephesians 4:32Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.
Jay Adams applies this Scriptural admonition in a practical way.
“When a person forgives another, he is promising to do three things about the intended wrongdoing: not to use it against the wrongdoer in the future; not to talk about it to others; and not to dwell on it himself.” Jay Adams
We don’t know what the future holds, but we know Who holds the future!
May the Lord bless you,
Pastor Duffy
