We will be blessed to welcome four guest preachers who all share expertise in Mental Health careers, and have agreed to continue on our summer theme, “Growing Your Garden of Faith.”
On July 12 the theme is “Nutrients of Experience” (i.e. “Fertilizing”) and our guest will be Rev. Dr. Tim Wildman. Tim is a UCC pastor who retired in May, 2014 from a long and distinguished career in pastoral psychotherapy in the Concord area. He now is enjoying having time to pursue his love of playing trumpet in several local bands in the Concord area, including the Tall Granite Jazz Band, The Prodigals and The Tall Granite Big Band. Tim is a member of First Congregational Church in Concord.
On July 19 the theme is “Fences and Arbors” and our returning guest, who last preached with us in 2013, is Rev. Dr. David B. Reynolds. Dr. Reynolds is Executive Director of Pastoral Counseling Services in Manchester, NH, where he has worked for 26 years. As a Licensed Pastoral Psychotherapist, he provides psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and families; offers spiritual direction, and serves as a consultant to churches. He is an ordained minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), an ecumenical partner with the United Church of Christ. He is married to Rev. Carol Meredith and lives in Deerfield, NH. For leisure, Dr. Reynolds enjoys jazz, mysteries, sailing, and beach walks.
On July 26 the theme is “Pruning” and our guest is Rev. Dr. Billy Brown.
He has been: an ordained minister in UCC since 1975. Served Churches in New Jersey, and New Hampshire. Hospital Chaplain in New Jersey, Virginia and Scotland. A Licensed Pastoral Psychotherapist since 1980. Co-founder of the Pastoral Counseling Services in Manchester, NH, and currently works at Cornerstone Family Resources, multi-discipline mental health services group in Concord. His home church is South Congregational Church in Concord. He lives with his lovely wife Nancy in Hopkinton. In addition to out patient mental health work, he leads retreats, facilitates clergy groups around the NH Conference UCC, and with his wife does conflict resolution consultation with churches and organizations throughout New England.
On August 2 the theme is “Tending” and our guest is Lisa Gay Witham. Lisa is a Christian Clinical Mental Health Counselor at the Upper Valley Compassionate Care Center in Lebanon, NH. She received her undergraduate degree in Sports Medicine and Education at the University of NH and Masters of Arts degree in Mental Health Counseling from Asbury Theological Seminary. Lisa taught at the West Nairobi School in Kenya after serving as a medical missionary in Belgium. Lisa has an extensive background in Boarding School Education as well as a 30 year career history as a Nationally Certified Athletic Trainer, thus the world of injury, loss, goal setting, life transitions and academic struggles are her specialty areas for treatment and intervention. Lisa has also served in the pulpit,filling in for pastors on vacation, in both the capital city and in the lakes region of New Hampshire.
