Imagine a Sunday school where kids are baking cookies, writing and acting in skits, performing science experiments, painting their own versions of Van Gogh’s Starry Night, and creating video projects, all while learning about Jesus.
Sunday school meets around 10:20 AM every Sunday after Children’s Time during worship.
We have two Power Xpress rotation classes: pre-K through 2nd grade and 3rd grade through 5th. Wonderful nursery care is available for children for infant through preschool ages.
The high school class is held on every 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month. Young adults from 9th through 12th grades are encouraged to attend worship services on the other Sundays. This year we are especially excited about our new junior high Sunday morning class for 6th through 8th graders. We have a great team of teachers ready to take kids deeper into God’s word and apply it to daily life.
The Christian Education Committee introduced a Sunday School curriculum in 2007 called PowerXpress!®. The format for the curriculum is based on the Workshop Rotation Model. The goal behind the Workshop Rotation Model is to teach the children of our church the major bible stories through kid-friendly multimedia workshops. The workshops are taught by volunteer members of our church through Art, Drama, Music, Games, Puppetry, Story-Telling, Wood Working, Technology or other educational media.
