In the morning, while it was still very dark, he got up and went out to a deserted place, and there he prayed. And Simon and his companions hunted for him. When they found him, they said to him, “Everyone is searching for you.” He answered, “Let us go on to the neighboring towns, so that I may proclaim the message there also; for that is what I came out to do.” And he went throughout Galilee, proclaiming the message in their synagogues and casting out demons.  Mark 1:35-39

Jesus reminds us of the importance of getting away from the crowd and finding renewal in a spiritual life. Whenever Jesus came back from his “time away” he returned to his ministry with more vigor and focus. This is our prayer for Reverend Jim as he journeys forth into a time of spiritual growth, development and ministerial enrichment.

While Reverend Jim is away we will spend time ourselves on spiritual growth and development. During the first seven weeks of my time with you we will engage ourselves with The Lord’s Prayer. Together we will learn more about stillness, worship, gratitude, and nourishment through faith.

I am very exited to be here with you. Please make note that I will hold Office Hours on Tuesdays from 10am to 2pm. Of course, please feel free to contact me if you need me outside of office hours. I can be reached through the church phone or by email at: hctomilson@gmail.com. Aside from leading worship, my other primary function will be to provide pastoral care.

I look forward to getting to know you all better. Please don’t hesitate to call on me during the next few months. If there are any Cribbage players out there, do know that I love to play. It’s getting harder and harder to find folks who play Cribbage so I hope you will indulge me by asking for a game!

Remember, I am here if you need me.
